Turning the Page or Closing the Book? She Has a Conversation on Love

Sally Rooney once said that we are human. Though we cherish independence, we cannot deny our nature as social creatures in need of companionship. We cannot choose a life without someone by our side.

She's taking her time, slowly learning about those from Mars, for 25 years have passed without experiencing a Martian's love [1], making her question herself. Is she equipped to understand the Martians? Does she know how to begin a relationship? Can she empathize with Martians in conversation?

"Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus," and "Conversations on Love" are her current guides as she prepares to meet her partner. She, understands her reality, pursues a degree until the next two years, which dims the prospects of a relationship (with the one who resides in her homeland, living a different path).

She understands.

How does God allow her these moments with him?

She contemplates...

“Are you certain? Did you call? Did we ever truly speak?”

She doesn't know.

Is this a mere waste of time? Or a profound journey, uniting two souls into one? They perhaps already a team now. Some advise her to delve into her feelings when with him:

How do you feel? How do you wish to feel? How do you feel when he’s not around?

She feels valued, heard, not judged, seen, and supported in his presence. He listens deeply. She feels content and calm beside him. Initially, she thought she’d be uncomfortable spending so much time with him, but she wonders why it feels right? She feels her time is well spent even though she has a packed schedule, but whenever he asks her for a time, the time is always available.

Less than two months before her departure, moving to another country.

Oh, this isn't goodbye, merely a "see you later."

He might be fortunate; she is patient.

She is willing to wait, even if it takes years. Hope that he is willing to.

Ah, why does this feeling arise now, when the time is “not” right? She will go far from this land. Why now? Why this person, now? Nonetheless, she thanks God, for this feeling.

“Don’t take it away; let me feel it, even from 14,961.09 km away, with a 12-hour difference.”

She doesn't want to learn to let go of him; she wants to understand how rare and beautiful they are to exist (himself, the feeling, the joy, the comfort). She promises to learn, to become the best version of herself while waiting for the right time. After graduation, or before?

Onto the next page.
